Well just to cheer everyone up, 2.52 min of Sheldon laughing. I'd call it asphyxiated snake.

This is a scene I like; crossover between real and digital, plus those immortal words: 'Leonard: Sometimes with women you want to listen to what upsets them and then show them that you can grow and change.
Sheldon: Nuts to that. What else you got?'. Classic Sheldon!

This made me laugh, Sheldon dreams he's on tacky Star Trek set talking to his minature conscience. I like the way they kept rearranging Spock's pose in earlier scene, and the goran. I can't believe how they imagined aliens would look back in the seventies. They'd be blown away by modern depictions.

[Image: giphy.gif] I can see that Sheldon's unsettled; was it seeing his mother having sex(part of the science route was to counter his mother's religious moralising), was it realising that, it's also what Amy wants, the death of Prof Proton(his science grandfather), or the horrible realisation that he's wasted his mental powers. But we also have Amy unsettling him. He was always a bit skittish, and had several minor meltdowns. But he seems to have lost all his bearings, and lost faith in everything that made him unique.
Before I go. We're all time travellers. Here's a reminder of good early season Sheldon; arrogant, condescending, know all. Helping Penny escape game. It's ironic he dreams of super heroes, yet has an IQ of 186. His mind is his super power.

Thanks for posting that clip. I'd almost forgot how astonishing Sheldon was.

Penny: "Sheldon that is incredible!"
Sheldon" From your vantage point it certainly must seem so."

God I LOVE him. And that Shenny dynamic where Penny has the ego to handle his barbs. They are perfect.

How can the Shamys hate early Sheldon? Oh I know how! ...he never needed Amy who for some reason, they want to relate to. Old Sheldon is so much better than her! And losing the real Sheldon, to bring in her character, is a trade off I will never forgive the writers for. Sad
I was reading that when CL created BB, he already had Kaley and Johnny, with comedy pedigree. Then in walks Jim. Watch his physical movements. I've also been thinking what shapes our thinking; I think chess helps advance planning/multiple scenarios, sci fi/fantasy helps develop imagination, some minds just race through ideas and connections, especially when stimulated, by coffee.

If you watch it in another language, which is strangely pleasing in itself, you can really see how they all express themselves physically.

It must be terrible being a sit com character, living by the whims of the gods/writers. It's like having the 'rom and com paradigm', superimposed over individuals, the happy rom com. And all those around seem to be in a conspiracy to make sure it stays that way. Whenever someone has a moment of clarity, all the other characters focus on keeping them together. 'Leonard: You’re too close to it, but Amy has had a huge impact on you.
Sheldon: You’re right. Without realizing it, I’ve allowed that woman to alter my personality.
Leonard: Mm, Sheldon, you didn’t have a personality, you just had some shows you liked.
Sheldon: No. No, I’ve changed. Like the frog who’s put in a pot of water that’s heated so gradually he doesn’t realize he’s boiling to death.
Penny: Or you’re the frog who’s been kissed by a princess and turned into a prince.
Leonard: Or you’re just a tall, annoying frog.
Sheldon: Excuse me. I have to break up with my girlfriend.
Penny: Oh, Sheldon, wait.
Sheldon: No. You’ve opened my eyes to the truth. Amy has made me a more affectionate, open-minded person. And that stops now.'

Once one of the characters senses one of the other characters is ready to run from their Sip, they attack like a pack of dogs.
