HA true true (what was it that she said after her and Leonard found out that Cinnammon was gone?). As long as she lives across the hall he won't be leaving his 'best pal' anytime soon and even if he does Sheldon would still beg him to come back because he 'can't handle change'. Which is the poorest excuse for him right now because look at ALL the change that's occurred since the she-devil dropped into his life.

It's not until Penny points out how Amy has changed him into becoming less immune to touches and kisses that he realized that. See? The only 'growth' that the gang has noticed from Sheldon is through him becoming more physical with his own girlfriend. That's it. I wasn't buying it during the episode when Sheldon went to visit Missy while she was pregnant and everyone told Amy how she got Sheldon to 'listen to her for the first time' when she told him to go back into the nursery room because that was NOT the first time that someone has ever persuaded Sheldon to do something against his own will.

Sheldon most likely needs Leonard to stay only because of the fact that he still not comfortable on letting Amy move in with him. If Sheldon were to have the ability to get to know others maybe then he'll start to open his mind once again and see who he wasted all of his loyalty on after all these years. Leonard knows that Penny will eventually let him move in so he'll stay in 4A until the day she welcomes him into his new home.Dodgy
All this stems from a daggone table? Talk about bait and switch. Dodgy How can the writers do this to Sheldon's character?? I don't get how easy it is for them to change the very essence of his being with some b.s jabs like that. They are hellbent with ruining Sheldon for the benefit of Shamy. I want to say the 'no personality' deal is just as bad, if not worse, than SIK. Im just.....wow..... Angry

And the delusional masses will continue to call this "growth" and how Fowler has been the ladder to get him there. MorlockMorlockSockSockSock

Yes well I think everyone has summed it up nicely. I wonder what S1-3 Sheldon would have said because he always had a comeback.

I wouldn't know a Manolo Blahnik if someone poked me with one, and have only a dim conception of most mainstream popular culture. But I can be very fervent on the subject of Joss Whedon or Harry Potter. Sheldon was one of Us, and they have not only taken that away from him and us by extension, it is now being made clear that fandom is something weird to be mocked and distanced from.

...maybe Sheldon's 'Fun With Flags' is a covert cry for help. He's semaphoring a distress signal out over YouTube, and waiting for rescue. *blinks* That could work.

The show has no truck with continuity, and will happily rewrite events to accommodate the latest groupthink. Things like the Nimoy Napkin are being overwritten, and I dread to think how they'd revamp the Adhesive Ducks. Except this Sheldon clearly can't be trusted to operate a damn pedal-car, let alone a proper vehicle.

It scares me to think what TPTB would love to do to change the Adhesive Ducks episode. Sad
I just saw the promo on the telly and another thing that is wearing extremely thin is Sheldon being Leonard's answer to anything that's wrong. In this case it was some nonsense like 'take a picture of anything not needed in the apartment' and Leonard took a shot of Sheldon. Morlock

These characters are now too horrible to watch. No wonder I live in my own little world.... Dodgy

And THAT is why I don't buy the friendship between those two. Never have really and I could care less if it's for comedic purposes only. Just because they label Leonard as Sheldon's 'best friend' doesn't necessarily make it true. But then the writers do this thing where they have Leonard suggest Proton to hang out with Sheldon instead of him because he was his childhood idol and him buying Penny a car because hers finally broke out on her just to cover up all of the backstabbing he's done to those two all these years. He takes everyone and everything for granted way too often because he believes he deserves it all. What people find the appeal of his character? I will never know. I could care less if he's considered the 'less weird one' in the group, he's boring as hell, selfish, and on top of that nothing but a douchebag with everyone he knows.

Funny Wellplayed how all the friends were talking about the impact Sheldon had on their lives during the "The Cooper Extraction" is forgotten by some pretty quickly. Morlock

I'm telling you man 95% of theses relationships and 'touching moments' are all FULL OF SHIT. Like SpaceAngL and Devilbik said the writers literally RESET every second to last episode they shoot and only use old references for whatever's convenient on making the canons, Leonard, and Amy look great. The gang only keep Sheldon around out of habit and coincidence not because they actually like who he is also they never actually explained why they liked about Sheldon and all that he benefits for the gang it was ONLY what would happen if they had never met him then they wouldn't be where they are right now which he didn't exactly have any part of in fact that was actually all of PENNY'S doing.
That's why I write and read AU stories: what's on the current show is so far from where I imagined the characters to be after the first four seasons that I'm finally joining ses's bandwagon and am no longer watching the show unless it's going to be something worth watching. I'm now getting too touchy with all the crap that's in canon to watch the show for entertainment purposes, although like Heroes TPTB have lowered the quality of TBBT so much it's far too easy to resist. Oh, and I'm not smoking crack (unlike T.O.'s mayor): they're currently running season six on Comedy and it is just. not. funny.

Great to have you on the bandwagon Wellplayed. It just seems we keep getting played. Thrown out a Shenny episode now and then and it's back to the Lenny and Shamy and Penny taking shots at Sheldon. I think we deserve better. Are the Shenny scenes we get even that great? We helped launch this show with our ratings and buying DVD's. Fans have the power by affecting the bottom line of shows.
