Maybe the show will get all deep and meaningful and have Leonard realise he doesn't need a blonde trophy to fill the hole left from his mothers neglect. Have Leonard experience an epithany and end the marriage. Maybe it will make a bold statement about things/people we can't have, and which we think will complete us and ultimately don't. Instead of perpetuating the idea that another person being 'won over' by someone less attractive will solve all our issues. That attraction is the only bond necessary and a real connection that goes beyond looks (like she has with Sheldon) is lesser and can be written off as familial.

I hope it's less from Leonard's side and more from Penny's side of things where she realizes she can be more and do more. She doesn't have to marry Leonard to be happy. And that she isn't truly happy. I don't think Leonard will EVER realize his ways... Maybe idk... I feel like they'll look at their parents and realize how much like them they are turning into. And they don't want that and marrying each other will do that.

I'd LOVE to see less penny/Shamy/girls night per episode. Mix it up... Make it like the old days OR just have everyone bonding and finding out they get along with each other (meaning mostly shenny and everyone else can do as they please) idk. I feel like the writers need to do some soul searching for the characters. And I DONT want to see Lenny figuring this out and Shamy being some sort of side show freak couple and NOT figuring things out. Amy and Sheldon need to break up and grow apart and move on. That can happen with Lenny being done. (But might be wishful thinking on my part.)

I think if its from Penny's side, it will just make a victim out of Leonard. People will blame her. He has to be happy that they are not together because he's been playing the "poor little insecure me" angle for years and people genuinely feel sorry for him. They like to root for him winning the prize and the writers don't write from Penny's point of view.

Penny was introduced as very "street smart", loyal and faithful. Her only real flaw was her atrocious taste in dating men who cheated on her and treated her like a possession. Leonard was supposed to be the good guy, the nice guy who would treat her different. So it's kind of funny that the writers turned Leonard into just another opportunistic cheater who will say or do anything just to have sex with Penny (but doesn't really mean anything he says), Asks her to sex up (use her body) so he can get a promotion and sends out bikini shots of her to his friends like she isn't even a person.

Of course they have changed Penny into a lying, drunken user who now steals from her boyfriend (season 7) and a serial guy stealer and cheater (season 9) to make Leonard's misdeeds look smaller ... But that's another post

I agree and also hope they write from the POV of Penny and Sheldon in season 10 for a change,  because so far, they have always pushed Leonard and Amy's POV. So far, Penny is supposed to be totally okay with Leonard objectifying her and cheating on her. And Sheldon is supposed to be okay with Amy manipulating him so much. That is not very believable.

Leonard is just a typical 'Nice Guy'. We have all dated someone like him once.  He isn't actually a nice guy, but believes you owe him something, just because he decided, he is a 'nice guy'  and was picked on in high school. He literally just plays the 'Nice Guy' card every time and that is all there is to his character. 

I had the same problem with HIMYM wrt to Ted and Robin - I got the same 'Nice Guy' vibes from Ted, although, at least that was a bit more believable. 

And Amy plays the lesser known, but equally irritating, 'Nice Girl'  card. Just because she believes she is so nice, sacrifices/puts up with so much for Sheldon, he is somehow obligated to love her.

I believe at one time Leonard WAS actually a nice guy (dorky and clueless) but ultimately he was the harmless, nice "straight man" until the writers decided they needed to have him be a dick to make him more interesting. Amy however was never the "nice girl", she was presented as the "victim" the poor ugly/strange girl that nobody wanted to play with. The girl so desperate for someone to love her she refused to give a boy back his asthma inhaler until he kissed her. In BBT-land Amy "deserves" love not because she's nice, but because she was so sad and mistreated while growing up. (Although if as a child she was half the sickening (scenting/licking), manipulative person is is now, you really can't blame the children for not wanting to be anywhere around her)

In the after math of Sheldon's mom Mary and Leonard's dad Alfred's "sexcapade," Penny will pick up her mom Susan (Katey Sagal) and brother Randall from the airport to attend her union with Leonard. The awkward encounters will begin the minute the trio is in the car traveling back to the wedding venue.

"We love Katey and this isn't the first time we thought of having her on the show playing other roles. We talked to her about a role in the past and that didn't work out. But her name has been floating around and we love her. And we thought it's time to meet Penny's mom and I talked to her," Molaro said while at the 2016 San Diego Comic Con.

Don't suppose Penny's mum Susan or brother Randall have a last name by any chance?

ONLY plus side: we finally get Penny in a scene on her own without it being Girlsnight or Leonard attached to her hip... So that should be nice to finally get Penny acting with new people away from the crones.... But I feel like we won't we a wedding in the first episode in... It'll probbaly cross over into a second episode.... IF it happens at all and Penny doesn't change her mind....

Bet they cheat and we never actually see the wedding. But we'll know that in a day or so.
