Season 1 is just golden. Sure, the characters were just evolving ... but the humor, the geekiness, Sheldon's rhetoric, the science etc. - it was all so refreshing and fun to watch! I dare to say that the worst S1 episode (is there one??) is superior to ANY S7 episode so far.
EDIT: ah, yes my top5 (very, very hard choice), in no particular order (except for Big Bran of course
):1. Big Bran (already explained above)
2. Luminous Fish (explained by Gripe)
3. Loobenfeld (loved the cousin and how he made Leonard angry + Sheldon's plan for the perfect lie)
4. Cooper-Hofstadter (epic fight between Sheldon and Leonard + Howard's youtube upload)
5. Nerdvana Annihilation (need I say more? -->
