I agree. Though the basement dwellers exist, the numbers of "normal" geeks are growing and a significant number of them are women. In fact, they seem to be the quickest growing segment. For people who regularly attend Comicon, the writers and creators are certainly not paying very much attention. There are a lot more "Alices" out there than they think. And they'd like some representation.
