I just read the conversation regarding fanvideos in the chatbox, and some of the ideas for Sheldon, Penny or Shenny fanvideos were brilliant. I enjoy fanvids but I'm afraid I don't know anything about making videos myself, so I thought maybe we could share our ideas for any kind of BBT-related fanvideos here (the concepts, the songs and the scenes that could be used in the fanvids) and maybe some of the fans who are good at making videos become inspired and turn some of these ideas into actual fanvideos! Is there anyone on HQ who is into fanvid making by the way?

See now, anyone unfamiliar with this site would assume this was a lovely discussion about suitably romantic music, favourite Sheldon and Penny scenes and so forth, instead of the rather horrific conversation that actually transpired involving Sheldon staggering around in the company of Harvey and that bloody Donnie Darko rabbit, having an identity breakdown and eventual collapse to the tune of Radiohead. Or at least that's what I've gathered from a brief, twitching glance at the damn thing...
I wouldn't mind a film noir version myself...the problem is largely one of costume...Flash T-Shirts do not a potential Humphrey Bogart make...

Well, who says fanvideos should all be happy or revolve around romance? I think many dark, deep and thought-provoking fanvids can be made with these characters, Flash T-shirt or not. What's wrong with creating and having a few dark BBT fanvids in the fandom? I think it can be done!

The juxtaposition of the mundane sitcom universe with some sort of existential thematic could actually be more effective than if you started with something naturally bleak and grim...
A vague example would be my favourite "fanvid" of all, Buster Keaton to Radiohead. Buster's fairly surreal and mildly terrifying (at times) to begin with, but he's essentially a comic. Once you remove the tinkly, vaudevillian music though, this deeper aspect emerges more clearly.

Agreed! Just match the right music with the right scenes and you either add a completely new feel to a scene/show/character or enrich and double the impact of a feel or a concept that is already there in the film/show/character. It's fascinating..
