And wearing lipstick, now we know what Sheldon was doing in Germany, reforming band, and picking up dubios ideas. I like the way he creates a whole universe of his own. This is again from K. Sanes essay> 'But the characters aren't only differentiated according to how crazy they are and the degree of insight they have into themselves. They can also be distinguished by which aspect of their personality is affected. Here, they fall into recognizable types, as they always have in comedy, so that each represents one or a few forms of dysfunctionality we know from ourselves and other people. There are the addicts, avoiders, self-sabotagers, airheads, overgrown adolescents, macho men, seductresses, persecutors, troublemakers, matchmakers, nagging parents, braggarts, et al.' It's true, at sometime the charcters become these types. I mean, in reality not many of us 'matchmake', but it's common in sitcoms.

I think the quick fire gags may come from vaudeville, but for example the way Raj and Howard are acting above, could be from Shakespeare. I think both Sheldon and Howard have a wide expression to their personalities. Where other characters would be more wary, they dare to say what they think. I think this is appealing honesty(and let's face it we live in a world of lies!), even when we may not agree with the sentiment. Sheldon picked up some dubious ideas in Texas, but some just come from his own arrogance.

I think Sheldon is at his happiest when; receiving parcels, playing with trains, playing with pets, and outwitting anyone.

Sheldon is so happy and the rest of the Shenny's are about to be very upset because I think this is the episode that starts up the Lenny crap again.

I hate the lovesick look on Leonard's face. Again this came out of nowhere. Typical Lenny BS.

I'm going to be the fly in your Pinot Noir, Ricardo and say that whilst I love everything else you post, I loathe 5 out of the 6 "Sheldons" that you've posted on this particular page. (Not that you mind. )
There's Boyfriend/Lab-lackey Sheldon and Redneck Sheldon x2, Asshole Sheldon and Idiot-Child Sheldon. And they're all from Season 5 onwards. I don't consider anything post Season 4 to be "Sheldon". It's some new thing altogether.
Asshole Sheldon is rather similar to certain TYPES of Vintage Sheldon but only insofar as Spatlese Lexia is similar to Pinot Noir itself (they're both made of grapes). I may be a wino, but I DO have standards, and that's just NOT ON.
I know PJ and others here, including yourself Ricardo, rather like Season 5 Sheldon, in parts, but I'm sticking to my rusty old guns on this. Vintage Sheldon started turning up now and then in Season 7, but then he went very far away again in Season 8.
God knows where the fucker is now. I shall send out a team of huskies...
(and what would THAT do, prithee?)
