The number of times a villain captures his nemesis (the hero) and instead of swiftly dispatching him to another realm, starts on a whole spiel about his "plan", and how he did it, and gives intricate, sensitive details about what he's going to do next, before leaving the hero to die in a flamboyant but flimsily constructed "death machine" which he can easily escape from...
