Favourite Songs (at the moment)

I've just found out I like Arab Strap! I've heard this tune for months on my fav Russian radio station, but only today found out their name. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9Krvl7AEAs I also saw Trainspotting again at the weekend, and it fits with that. It was about heroin, how money can tear 'mate'ships apart, but it's also a cultural document. Showing how at that time; the drugs, the music, the whole culture was changing!

I have fond memories of living in N. Devon. Used to hang out with a load of surfers in Croyde Bay(they all came up from Sidmouth). Moved up here to go to UNI, and party! Love hovercrafts, I used to take that big one that went across the channel, and was fascinated by them as a child.

Okay, this just came up on shuffle on my iPod and I immediately switched it to repeat. It's alittle older but it screams "Penny". At least to me.

Here's some nice frenetic guitar work from John Fairhurst. The people leaping around in the brothel/bar are other Manchester musicians...Louis Barabbas, Dave Rybka, Sam Buckley...Alabaster dePlume...most notably who bangs into Fairhurst as he walks past. Also on sax.

Here's Alabaster again, being his usual gnomic/evangelical self....I think Witchdoctor and/or Pilot Fish might like this, if they haven't already been subjected to it. Although I might have shown you the one I shot through a stone wall in Spain? Alabaster's head gibbering on through a hole in the ruins...
Warning, some profanity...

Pilot Fish - I liked the one you added above VERY much until the techno bit turned up. I wish they wouldn't add such things...it sounds like white noise to me. YOUNG PEOPLE TODAY! With their "electric" music....BAH!

And finally here's the bloody Mariner's Revenge Song I mentioned earlier in the Grumblebox....HOW you chaps don't know the Decemberists is beyond me...

New favorite right now:
Say Something (the version done by Pentatonix)

It beautifully haunting and except for one cello all other "instruments" are coming from the 5 singers.

Say Something, I'm giving up on you (really speaks to me right now about my feeling for BBT)

I've been listening to a lot of Sara Bareilles lately. Her songs are pure awesomeness! My love for her started with the awesome Shenny fanvideo that used "Breathe Again". <3

I Choose You by Sara Bareilles
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bXjoCfqlWrI

"Tell the world that we finally got it all right, I choose you..."

Oh, how I'd love to see/hear Sheldon and Penny to say that out loud to each other! When will they come to their senses?! ;~;

Gonna Get Over You by Sara Bareilles

This is such a cute music video! The song is so catchy and I just love the way Sara dances here. Girl can move! ^^

And lastly, "Daydreaming" by Jessie J

I looooove Jessie J. And this is my fave out of the songs in her 2nd album. I just love the laid-back feel and the kinda old-school vibe. Heart

My head is currently occupied by disjointed strings of Eminem lyrics... It's torturous and entertaining at the same time...

"You might see me jogging, you might see me walking. You might see me walking a dead rottweiler dog with its head chopped off in the park with a spiked collar hollering at him cause the son of a bitch won't quit barking."

"Uh,summalummadoomalummayouassumingI'mahumanwhatIgottadotogetitthroughtoyouI'msuperhumaninnovativeandI'mmadeofrubbersothatanythingyousayisricochetingoffofmeandit'llgluetoyouandI'mdevastating,morethaneverdemonstratinghowtogiveamothafuckinaudienceafeelinglikeit'slevitatingneverfading,andIknowthehatersareforeverwaitingforthedaythattheycansayIfelloff,they'llbecelebratingcauseIknowthewaytoget'emmotivatedImakeelevatingmusic,youmakeelevatormusic "Oh,he's too mainstream"
Well, that's what they do when they get jealous, they confuse it"
(Well that looks stupid when you type it out...)

"OKAAAYY, I'M READY TO GO PLAY, I GOT THE MACHETE FROM O.J, I'M READY TO MAKE EVERYONE'S THROATS AAAAAACHE!"

SHUT THE FUCK UP I'M TRYING TO WORK.
