I think Malero is still stuck in the Comedy of 13 - 17 year olds in The Amanda Show, Drake & Josh, Zoey 101 and iCarly where of course there needs to be growth since a Teen Comedy is about "finding out who you are" but I just don't understand this thinking that an Adult Comedy has to show "growth" to be viable
MASH ran 11 years did any of the characters have any "real sustainable" growth?
Seinfeld ran for Nine Seasons, did they "grow" as individuals?
All In the Family, I Love Lucy (even with the baby) did they show character growth? HELL NO!
I'm have this reoccurring nightmare right now where TPTB decide to remake Gilligan's Island and Lovey spends her day shrieking at Thurston to "do his chores", Mary Ann is complaining that she needs some sugar from her sexy Toddler, but the Professor is to busy trying to get them off the Island, and Gilligan spends his days whining that he just can't catch a break with Ginger.
