(Also remember lads, that only about half the HQers are Shenny folk, the other half are Nostalgics and fans of individual characters, so if you want to include everybody, just say HQers. Or fellow time-wasters )

I'd like to see a Maltese Falcon episode, or indeed any sort of Film Noir pastiche. Shot in black and white, obviously, and perhaps using the Rashomon trope. 20 million viewers and a three year contract, they can afford to experiment for one goddamn episode...

But no, let's have another 22 minutes of watching couples air their dirty laundry/grievances/insecurities/jealousies etc. It's like being stuck in a bloody laundromat with Jeremy Kyle...

The few times they tipped their hats in the vague direction of film homages turned out splendidly!
