After filming on the sequel is completed, Penny finally discovers that Leonard has been showing her nude scene in Serial Apeist to virtually everyone he meets, slaps him across the face, dumps him and moves back to Nebraska.

They keep talking about Sheldon BREAKING up with Amy (false alarm), Sheldon BREAKING up with physics... maybe it's time for the big old predictable...

Amy breaks up with Sheldon to teach him a 'lesson' plot.

Penny runs off with Wil Wheaton after the movie is finished.

I agree with the "breaking up" thing. It seems that its a recurring theme for this season and more recently with Serial Apeist, so I think that both are going to be in the finale. Someone is going go break up with some one else and leave. I don't think it'll be Sheldon breaking up with Fowler only because I don't think the writers would have her chasing after him. He has "broken up" with her numerous times already and it just doesn't stick.

1) Something happens involving Serial Apeist, i.e. Leonard is insecure of Penny hanging out with Wheaton (or some other guy) on the set, Lenny breaks up. Penny/Leonard leaves to their hometown or wherever.

2) Penny realizes Leonard's douchebag habit of showing off her Serial Apeist topless scene, confront him about that and he continuing doubt of her, Lenny breaks up. Penny/Leonard leaves to their hometown or wherever.

3) Amy has already confided in Leonard that she want even more intimacy from Sheldon, especially since he is close to Penny, she finally gets tired of waiting and breaks up with him. A legit break up.

The subplots for Howard and Raj will be fleeting. Howard decides not to go back to the space station, Raj is torn between Lucy and the new girl, but ends up with neither.

I think there will be a break-up for the sole purpose of setting up the S8 premiere and TPTB are gonna bait the hook with Shenny.

But only temporarily.

The Amy Cult will be in a dither all summer.

The first few episodes next season will have Sheldon in turmoil until he finally realizes that Amy is what he's been looking for all his life. So he'll go crawling back to her and give her what she DESERVES. Amy wins and smiles smugly at the camera.

I won't be watching.

The first few episodes next season will have Sheldon in turmoil until he finally realizes that Amy is what he's been looking for all his life. So he'll go crawling back to her and give her what she [b]DESERVES. Amy wins and smiles smugly at the camera. [/b]

But he won't give her what she deserves until the show gets its Thursday timeslot back.

Well this show has a very limited repertoire when it come to season finales so it should be pretty predictable. Seasons 2, 5, and 6 had someone going away(the artic, space, north sea). Seasons 1, 3, and 4 had first dates and/or awkward hookups(L/P date, S/A meeting and drunk Penny/Leonard hookup, drunk Penny/Raj hookup) Judging from the past its probably awkward hookup time. Too bad it can't be drunk Amy/Leonard this time.

Break up options -

Leonard and Penny. 'On a break'. Either - Leonard meets Jenny, who is a bubbly brunette waitress from the Midwest who wants to be an actress. People can't quite put their finger on why this bothers them.

Or - Penny comes back from a dodgy low budget film with a new guy in tow. He's tall, dark and a little awkward. Ditto.

Either way, the other party will bitch, complain, sulk and scheme.

Sheldon and Amy. Either Burt displays more interest, and Amy responds. Sheldon, losing his woman to a 'dirt guy', decides to fight for her. Probably more out of hurt pride than jealousy.

Or - Faisal comes back into the picture, with an ultimatum.

Most of these options have the rather nauseating prospect of either Penny or Sheldon being pining, spineless losers eager to have the dead weight of their tired toxic relationships back. But there is the slim hope they could wise up, and that the others find the grass ain't greener.(Part of me rather hopes Faisal turns out to be a fantasist, a plumber from Milwaukee or something.)

If Penny comes back with new bloke, the plot could have Sheldon being overly invested in breaking it up, with knock-on effects for his own relationship.

Most likely -

Sheldon and Amy break up. He storms dramatically for the door. End of episode.

Much flailing and discussion over the break.

(Start of next season. He comes back up from the parking lot, having forgotten his wallet. End of crisis.)

Really awful dismal option - Ohmygawd, you killed Meemaw! You bastards!

With hideous prospect of Amy providing a shoulder to cry on and copious amounts of alcohol after the funeral. Liquor and bad judgement. It would be tacky, tasteless and repulsive. Ergo, right in the ballpark for this lot.
