I wouldn't treat a random stranger the way these characters treat their "loved ones." I'm a very assertive person and I don't take sh*t, but I don't scream at people or call them an idiot right to their face.

Yes, all couples argue and that's normal, but IMO this level of hostility is not normal or healthy. More importantly, it's not entertaining to watch. Watching people argue isn't funny, or endearing, or meaningful, or...anything. It's deeply squicky and unsettling.

I can only imagine that the people who enjoy this stuff have been burned in their own relationships at some point, so they have a hostile outlook. Or they subscribe to a phony feminism where the woman is always right and the man is always wrong.

It's like "The Guitarist Amplification", where Sheldon was distressed because everyone around him was arguing. Well, he must really be distressed, now.

If someone annoys you that much, and their behavior is that unacceptable to you, maybe that's a sign you shouldn't be together in the first place. Dontcha think?

I'd never treat a boyfriend/husband that way. I've been less harsh to random jerks who harassed me on the subway...

It occurred to me that I'd feel one hundred percent better (well, maybe eighty percent better), if they simply gave this "new" show a different name and stopped pretending that this is the same concept we were introduced to in 2007.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: S3 or S4 onward should be regarded as some type of reboot, re-make, or spin-off, much like the original unaired pilot was a very different spin on similar themes...

I agree. I keep waiting for the episode where Sheldon wakes up screaming Danger, danger, and we find out that seasons 4-7 were a nightmare brought about from bad Thai food (although I would allow season 4 minus the Penny/Raj hook up and a couple other episodes)
