Well that wasn't awful but it wasn't amazing either.
Really enjoyed Howard and Bernadette calling and hanging up on Raj, this was probably the funniest part. I liked Amy taking a flash photo of Sheldon as well. I thought that was clever. But who is this guy? My canon of Sheldon is the weird alien guy who sleeps on his back like a corpse and wakes up in exactly the same position. Another alteration to Sheldon as we see him snoring and sprawled all over the bed. As for Amy being pushed out? You could see it coming so the photo thing saved it.
Johnny Galecki can not do physical humour at all. His dancing wasn't quite 'bad enough' to be amusing. So the Lenny stuff was not funny.
The Shenny scene was a total disappointment again. They are taking out all the banter between Sheldon and Penny and presenting them in this flat way. I believe they are trying to inject this into Shamy instead. It's purposely done. I enjoyed Amy yelling at Sheldon this time, even though it's not his fault he's a snorer and bed hog. But the argument just doesn't have that Shenny fire and never will. Amy and Sheldon are all science counterpoint science. There's no heart counterpoint head. Light and shade. Meeting of two worlds. Fairly decent performances but Amy's too similar to him. Sheldon bantering with uneducated street-smart Penny will always be superior. This episode was as close as they'll ever get, I'll give them kudos for effort though as it feels like they actually got off their backsides and gave all three plots attention.. They might be able to convince tptb to give them more seasons if they keep this up. It wasn't terrible.
The opening scene up the stairs was okay. The first two scenes with Amy after that I thought were a bit poor. Sometimes Amy is good, like the scenes in penny's bedroom and sometimes she's just terrible. The two other scenes she seemed totally fake. Like when they are trying to convince Sheldon to do the experiment and later in his bedroom. I don't think 'serious girlfriend Amy works as well.
