The guy's scenes were pretty good.
The girl's scene was horrendous. Had to throw in the 1000th poor-sex-starved-Amy line. Bernadette gives Howard an allowance? That's the second time they've implied that they're living off her income. Don't you think Howard's income is enough to afford a ticket to a comic book convention? They're really overdoing the Bernadette-is-Howard's-mother bit.

I agree. It was as close to vintage as we've seen in a while. But the girls' scenes...Ugh. I am so sick of the Howard-married-his-mother trope. Bernadette used to be nothing like his mother. Now...not so much.

Doesn't it seem that anymore when it's just the girls together they try to make Penny look really bad? Not just the drunk jokes or the stupid jokes, but physically less put together. When they were princesses she was a messy sleeping beauty, the episode where she munching on chips and looking grumpy, this one and several others. Apparently it's not enough to just make her look like a loser when compared to the other two, they have to bring her down a little more. I really hate the girls only scenes anymore, it's like a group of bitchy high school girls.

So true. I really hope Kaley gets a HUGE raise on her next contract for dealing with this assassination of the character she helped create.

I really can't stand how immature, bitter, two-faced, irresponsible, and just downright RUDE her character has become. There's not much that I like about her anymore she's just so weak and easily irritable now. And please tell me who in the hell would laugh at an old man falling down losing conscious in himself?! Cause I sure as hell wouldn't!

I wish I could just destroy that stupid tiara of Amy's it just makes her look more like the spoiled brat she already is, she's so competitive around other women including little girls! And of course they always have to have her mention her virginity, that's all she's ever wanted from Sheldon.

So true Jislane. It would be great to have someone laugh at Penny for going out with Leonard. Maybe one of her old friends? Amy wearing that tiara again was very weak. They should have cut the whole scene with the girls out of the show and gave more time to Carrie Fisher.

RE: 7.14 The Convention Conundrum - Moonbase - 02-01-2014

James Earl Jones and Jim Parsons were great together but the episode itself wasn't very good. I didn't laugh. Sheldon was too childish in every scene. Then he was eating from the same plate as another person, without any comment on this. How many sharks is that now Steve Morelo?

The guys trying to get Comic Con tickets was boring, the girls even more so. Penny didn't even make me laugh. They could have done away with the two sub plots and just had the story about Sheldon, James Earl Jones and Carrie Fisher. But no, they have to force every damn character into each episode. I'm going neutral on this but only because James Earl Jones was in it. The rest was utter rubbish.

1 Penny Blossom from me. I snorted at the mention of Wil Wheaton having to "shampoo his beard." Not much else.

One wonders if Wil W. has a Sheldon-avoiding app that spits out improbable excuses as needed.

Now that we know what's up next, I feel I may have been a bit harsh on this episode Smile

RE: 7.14 The Convention Conundrum - taffinabean - 02-02-2014

The only part I liked was the weenie comment about Leonard. Sheldon was so serious when he said, "yes, yes he is a weenie."
haha
and it's true too

That was a highlight for me too. I enjoyed the Sheldon JEJ part, JEJ was so into it, but Sheldon being so out of character made it hard to fully get into their interaction. On one hand the awe he exhibited was similar to the Stan Lee episode, but it's hard to get past the sundae sharing. This from a guy who gave Penny a strike for stealing an onion ring or who Ramona assured "gloves were worn at all times, I was vigilant".

None of the fans on the other site see this as a problem. I saw someone mention the sundae sharing and it was quickly dismissed with a post that read "it's was not that big a change for Sheldon" which proves to me that they seem to know nothing about the show or it's characters. They just watch and wait for the romantic scenes. How can anyone take the site seriously?

People don't exhibit those kind of changes without therapy, traumatic brain injuries, strokes, medications, or writers that ignore all previous character traits. Confused
