Yes it's strange how he instantly matures 10 years in scenes with Penny.
If you compare this to the last time Penny knocked for Sheldon, you can see the alien ... at 43 seconds
I wonder how many of the new fans actually know that Penny has knocked for Sheldon before in 2.07 the panty pinata polarization

Well a considerable number of them appear not to know Sheldon has hugged Penny twice BEFORE that bloody season 7 episode, so I'd say not many...
In fact Sheldon's entire existence and identity, pre-AFF, appears to be unfamiliar to them...So...the entire first three seasons which made the show famous. BUT I DIGRESS.
That whole Panty Pinata scene is worth a full viewing again...just for larks.
And with subtitles. Because.

Plus Sheldon calling her out on that he knows she started his triple knock as a joke but Really found it soothing. No high pitch baby talk here folks just a deep voiced, eyebrow raising, i know more then you genius back with us for a brief moment before Amy has him regressing back to his pacifier and blankie again.
