Leonard giving the tickets was nice, but him not wanting to go with Penny said everthing about this sham of a Ship. Penny should know about the least sexiest things as the Ship she is in makes her an expert. Very true. I don't like how both Amy and Bernie are ANTI who the guys are. They could have one girl into comic books, sci-fi or gaming. They seem determined to shoot down the nerd now. Going back to the episode, everyone was annoyed at Sheldon for just being Sheldon. He's not a Valentines type of guy and everyone was angry with him. It's like they no longer know him. The show is dead set of tearing down it's own past. Nerds are bad. Must grow up now. Different is wrong. RE: 7.15 The Locomotive Manipulation - Trust No One - 02-09-2014 (02-09-2014, 01:51 AM)Tuesday Pajamas Wrote: Very true. This may be mean but Sheldon should have told Bernadette go sit down I'm not your husband that you could yell at me. These rest of the friends do not want Sheldon to rebel. They want Sheldon to go along with the re-programming like the rest of them.

Again with him being a child that needs to be scolded and Bernadette having to "handle" him. Its old.
RE: 7.15 The Locomotive Manipulation - FlyingMonkey - 02-09-2014 Wise, patient women dealing with silly, immature, clueless men. The staple of TV romcoms since the very beginning. Throw another corpse on the pile. RE: 7.15 The Locomotive Manipulation - SpaceAnJL - 02-09-2014 This show is scared of women. The writing of the female characters goes beyond offensive, they are all vicious caricatures, either prey or harpies. The male characters are a set of stereotypes, too, but they lack the sheer unpleasant undertones of the distaff side. RE: 7.15 The Locomotive Manipulation - Idle Miscreant - 02-11-2014 (I'm still smitten with this Tesla cartoon, so I'm putting it here as well. If anyone has a problem with that, you can meet me in the Bois de Boulogne at dawn. I probably won't be there.) Attention The Target Demographic; STOP THROWING YOUR KNICKERS INTO THE NARRATIVE STRUCTURE, YOU MAD BINTS!
RE: 7.15 The Locomotive Manipulation - Berliner - 02-11-2014 ^ Brillant. Tesla is one of my all time favourite physicists. I visited the Nikola Tesla Museum in Belgrade 3 years ago and loved it. That man was a true Homo Novus. Old Sheldon and Tesla had so much in common, that's one of the reasons I got hooked to the show. But now, well I think you know my opinion ...
RE: 7.15 The Locomotive Manipulation - SpaceAnJL - 02-11-2014 I'm definitely a shrieking Tesla fangirl. So, so brilliant, and so ahead of his time. Half the stuff they called him nuts for talking about then now exists. Vintage Sheldon very definitely drew on people like Telsa and Dirac for inspiration. Now, he seems to be channeling Pee-Wee Herman. RE: 7.15 The Locomotive Manipulation - Wisp - 02-11-2014 Fairy bread looks fucking disgusting... And I'll just point out that y'all have basically summed up every aspect of the show that has bugged me into a massive essay about why I refuse to watch post season 4 episodes. Bravo! Less work for me. Mantra of my life. @Gripe I completely agree that Homo Novus, in comparison with Pee-Wee Herman (as I like to call Sheldon 2.0) seemed much more sexually/romantically capable. The worst thing about Sheldon's dramatic chopping up is that IT WASN'T BY ANY MEANS the only way they could have gone if they wanted romance. I'm sorry, but when, in any self-respecting TV-depicted adult relationship, is "I want to kiss you like mommys and daddys do" at all appropriate, or funny? (Am I right that this line happened? I'm sure it did.) I may never stop if I get to ranting now, so that's all from me... |
