I highly recommend The Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat by Oliver Sacks. It's a fascinating (and beautifully written) look at some highly unusual neurological disorders.

I may have read that, just after The Man Who Was Thursday, by G.K. Chesterton. I was definetely interested in Sacks experiments/ideas.
