Leonard is really a pointless waste of space, isn't he? He adds nothing to the group dynamic at all.

Leonard is the anchor who keeps the show from soaring. AFF is the dead weight mires it in the mud.

Open question with no right or wrong answers: if you (plural you) could remake the show according to your own wishes, what would you do about Leonard? Get rid of him entirely? Make him into the best version of himself, strengthening his good qualities and downplaying the bad ones? Make him just a minor character who serves to introduce Sheldon to Penny and then recedes into the background? Make him a major character but not paired with Penny?

Just curious. For the most part, I don't mind early-seasons Leonard, and I don't find early-seasons Lenny actively objectionable, but I *do* find it boring in the extreme.

Give him a girlfriend from the get-go. Not Penny. But someone he's been with since high school. His first girlfriend, Because he doesn't believe he'll ever find another, better girlfriend. And she's a lot smarter than he is and knows more about geeky stuff. She's always correcting him. Just like Sheldon.

Yeah definitely someone quirkier for Leonard. Lenny are so boring because the only gag they have is his insecurity.
