The UK lost one of it's comedic greats today, perpetual teenager, silly-sod, Essex boy Rik Mayall who died at the sweet young age of 56. For some of us, it’s a bit like losing a member of the family but he’s left us with so much raw fun… I thought we could post our fave pics and skits here.

Funniest 'Bottom' moments.

He had a face made for comedy and he knew it, all intense bug-eyed paranoia at whatever ridiculous existential crisis he was facing, topped off with that patented half-witted sneer slash grimace slash smile. And the frenetic, sweat-drenched energy of at least five men, always threatening to burst through his skin.

He was also one of those people who can effortlessly slide between; faux serious,satire, and irony. Mocking the very people he portrayed. (I wish people could hear their obituaries before they die, illogical I know!)
