I also have a soft spot for Vincent Price movies.

Saw 'The Hidden Fortress' last night. I wonder what the reaction was when George Lucas said; I want to remake a 1950's film, set in 16th century feudal Japan, and reset it in the future. The costumes are there, a dual with lances(I always thought it a bit weird that in the future people would fight with swords(light sabers!). The integrity of the warrior class, and Darth I particularly liked the spirited Princess Yuki!!!

Of course I mean Pulp!

Early Bergman, poetic and beautiful! Later, the Nordic darkness!

Lars Von Trier, always experimenting; The Idiots, Dogville, Dancer in the Dark, The Five Obstructions.

I was never sure about this film, maybe I should have read the comic books first! Rorschach is an interesting concept!
