Sara Rue(Dr Steph) appeared in a few CL productions(incl: Roseanne), but also in Idiocracy(here as Attorney General). I think as these corporations try to sell to a wider audience they inevitably dumb down, not only generally, but even within the run of a show. Idiocracy is considered as science fiction.

Sara currently has a reoccurring role in Mom. She plays the new love interest of the leads x husband.

This looks like a very different programme, where they play characters more like their real selves!
